Known for its pink sandy beaches and clear waters, Elafonisi is a stop you won't want to miss. This peninsula, located 76 kilometers west of Chania, on the southwestern tip of Crete, is part of a protected area and is home to the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, as well as other rare plants and animals.
The day starts with pickup from specific points in Chania. Travel for approximately 40 minutes in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Stop at a place with authentic and traditional products for about 15 minutes. At the beach, you will have the opportunity to explore the area on your own. Wander the dunes or just enjoy a relaxing swim.
Those traveling with children will enjoy the shallow lagoons, which are perfect for swimming and exploring. On your return journey stop at a traditional tavern in a picturesque village for about an hour. Choose to eat from a number of dining options at this location (own expense). Be sure to bring your camera, as you'll want to photograph the pink sand - a color it takes on from the millions of crushed shells.
In the afternoon, the bus departs for the return trip to Elafonisi
